Print labels and scan barcodes
Create inventory barcodes and price stickers, configure printing, and verify scan reliability.
Label Studio creates inventory barcodes for internal lookup and price stickers for the show table. Configuration, preview, and print output use the same selection.
Labels appears only when the beta feature is enabled for your dealer workspace. Printing does not require Manage inventory. Shortcuts for adding or importing remain unavailable without that permission.
Step 1: Select a show and items
- Open Labels.
- Under Source Show, choose a show or Recent inventory (most recent cards).
- Select the items you need. Select all visible selects every item on the current page; Clear selected resets the selection.
- Continue with Next.
With no inventory, CaseLink shows a shortcut to add or import items. A show must have assigned items before it produces a printable selection.
Step 2: Choose type, format, and output
Under Label type, choose:
- Inventory Barcode for internal identification, storage, and later lookup.
- Price Sticker for the customer-facing asking price at the table.
Then choose a real label size and its matching output:
- Roll prints one label per feed, for example on DYMO 30330, 30334, or 30252 / 99010.
- Sheet places labels on a predefined US Letter or A4 grid, for example Avery 5160 / 8160, 5161 / 8161, L8651, or L7160.
Not every format supports both outputs. CaseLink only shows combinations whose stored dimensions and grid match. The slab, toploader, or sleeve preview is a scaled illustration; the printable layout states the exact print size.
Choose content and a scan code
An inventory barcode contains Code 128 and the CaseLink code. Wide formats of about 90 millimeters or more can print the full CL-CARD:<UUID> value; narrower inventory labels use the compact CL-<8 characters> code. Both can be resolved by CaseLink.
The price is always visible on a price sticker. Depending on its size, you can additionally enable reference, card name, numbering, placement number, creation date, and a scan code. Scan choices are None, Barcode, and QR code.
If content cannot fit at a readable size, CaseLink disables that option and explains why. It does not silently print a different scan code. Reduce the content or choose a larger or taller format.
Step 3: Configure printing
Before Print Labels or Print / Download, review the configuration checklist:
- Scale: 100 percent, not “Fit to Page”.
- Margins: None or Minimum.
- Headers and footers: off.
- Media size: roll width, A4, or US Letter matching the chosen format.
- Orientation: portrait or landscape matching the layout.
Use Fine-tuning & Print Calibration to correct offset and gap in millimeters. Calibration is stored locally in this browser.
Match price stickers to items
For a batch of price stickers, enable Include placement number. Show Placement Guide opens a reference list with number, price, card name, and grade or certificate. The Ref column appears only when the reference is also printed on the stickers.
The printed price and placement guide use the dealer workspace's base currency even when the dashboard uses another display currency.
Test print and scan
- Print one label first.
- Check size, alignment, contrast, and clipped content.
- Scan the code in Look up inventory and grading certificates.
- Compare the result, item, variant, and condition with the physical copy.
- Start the full job only after that check succeeds.
If a print job ended in an unclear state, inspect the printer queue and selected items before repeating it. For a show, select the physical stock as described in Prepare a show.
